The City of Odem’s water department supervises the quality of our water by maintaining the operation of the water treatment facility and periodic flushing of the water lines. We also maintain and repair water leaks, water main breaks, water meters and fire hydrants.
Waste water
We also maintain the upkeep of the waste water treatment plant on County Road 2221, sewer backups, wastewater main repairs and lift stations.

Sewer Backups
The Wastewater department provides a service for sewer backups. There is no fee to the customer if the problem is on the City side. A resident is required to have a cleanout by the property line in order for our department to have access and the ability to run the sewer machine through the cleanout. We also clean out the sewer main lines with a jetting machine when needed.

Water Stage
Effective Immediately, City of Odem is transitioning from Stage 3 (Critical Water Shortage) to Stage 2 (Moderate Water Shortage)
- Lawn Watering is permitted once every two weeks (before 10:00 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m.) on assigned days. You can check your address schedule below and on our city website.
- Vehicle washing is allowed on any day using a bucket or a handheld hose with an automatic shutoff nozzle.
Per the San Patricio Municipal Water District, this change is triggered because the combined storage levels of Choke Canyon Reservoir and Lake Corpus Christi have increased above 30%. The City of Corpus Christi, from which the district purchases raw water under a wholesale agreement, has made the determination to terminate Stage 3 and initiate Stage 2, as we remain consistent with their Drought Contingency Plan.
